Get to know, Miss Hyaluronic!

Skin Dehydration is one of those irksome things that unfortunately some of us have to deal with. The good thing is that dehydrated skin is a condition NOT a permanent skin type. Having dehydrated skin means there is a lack of moisture and water. This can be caused by weather, unhealthy diet, lifestyle choices and not using proper skincare products.
Although this skin condition could be overwhelming, there are ways to help it. For starters, drinking water is the most important thing in life. You would notice a significant difference if you simply increase your water intake. Using the right cleanser is also very important. My tip is to use a gentle cleanser that won’t strip away any oils you have left on your skin. Also, look for keywords like “moisturizing” or “hydrating” in your cleansers. One of my favorite cleansers is the Eminence Coconut Milk Cleanser; it is a gentle cream cleanser that gives your skin a dewy, fresh finish.
Key step, about 2-3 times a week be sure to exfoliate, especially if you have flaky skin. In general, exfoliating is a good habit and makes for good maintenance. If you want that glow you must remove any dry or dead skin that’s just sitting on top of your face. I would suggest a gentle exfoliator or even a tool like the Clarisonic (which I swear by). What I love most about this tool is that they have different brush heads for different skin types; I promise it is life changing!
Next up, serums! Serums are so good because they are full of moisturizing ingredients, like hyaluronic acid which is another keyword to look for in products. Fact: Hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1000 times its water weight. I am obsessed with the Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum.
The last and most important step is to moisturize! A good moisturizer is key and I cannot stress enough how much your skin needs it. I prefer and would recommend thicker consistency cream. Pro-tip: I love to mix a few drops oil with my moisturizer to give me that extra glow, like the Epicuren Bulgarian Rose Otto (which is also a Kim K fave).
One last pro-tip, I would recommend doing face masks about 1-2 times a week. Once again, look for the keyword “hydrating”.  Sheet masks are great for an instant moisture boost, but I personally love overnight masks! Just slather it on and you are guaranteed to wake up with better skin! Now you can say “I woke up like this!”
